OUR VG CARES PHILANTHROPY DIVISION CONTINUES TO CARRY OUT THE MISSION OF OUR FOUNDERS, HELPING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND OUR WORLD ANY WAY WE CAN.
Giving back has always been a part of our culture. Our VG Cares division is the steward, providing opportunities for all our stakeholders to do their part. We encourage all our associates and business partners to join us in the goal to give back in meaningful ways. Village Green apartment communities participate in multiple local charity events every year. They bring together our residents, associates, and national supplier-partners to raise awareness and funds for local non-profits like Ronald McDonald House Charities, Toys for Tots, and Animal Welfare groups.
Village Green also encourages every associate to pursue their own passion for worthy causes with our 10,000 Service Hours program which provides a paid day off to volunteer however they choose. This is how Living Social changes lives for the better – including our own.
SPLASH DAY
EVERY YEAR, VILLAGE GREEN APARTMENT COMMUNITIES ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY JOIN TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE SPRING…
…and the opening of pool season with a fundraising event called SPLASH DAY. It’s a fun party for residents, associates and our preferred supplier-partners. Over the more than thirty years we’ve partnered with RMH Charities, we have raised and donated over $3 million.. SPLASH DAY began in 1991 when a Property Manager accepted a dare to jump into the community’s unheated pool if pledges were made and funds donated to a worthy cause.
More than thirty years later, the tradition has evolved to include caring people at over 200 properties competing to raise the most money, have the most fun, and win the coveted SPLASH DAY CUP.
Being Green is now an integral part of our company culture.
Environmental Sustainability
GREEN IS IN OUR NAME AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN INTEGRAL PART OF WHO WE ARE.
The name Village Green originally symbolized creating and managing apartments that fostered a sense of community, like the historic village greens in England. Today, it also represents our commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
We consult with and assist owners in renovating existing communities and building new communities using environmentally-friendly materials and energy efficient products, often incorporating 24/7/365 business centers to enable reduced commuting, bike storage and repair facilities, green rooftops, and air and water quality programs. These are ways we encourage environments for our residents to Live Green.
